D.5 : Trek to Mangegot 3250m and Tharepathi Pass 3490m, the highest point of the trek. An imposing spectacle of glaciers, a magnificient view
of Langtang Himal.

ITINERARY
D.1. Leaving Kathmandu for Gorkha in local bus, visit of ancient royal palace and
"Kali Mandir", temple of Kali.
D.2. Trek from Gorkha for Kanchok Bhanjang, 1100m, 5h30.
D.3. Descend towards Arughat bazaar (500m) along the river Mukhti. From here onwards for several days we follow the spectacular gorges of the seething
Buri Kandaki river, 6h.
D.4. Trek to Labhu Besi 850m through numerous forests with many monkeys. Many Gurung houses on the way. The Gurung women are clothed in
velvet waistcoats and numerous jewels.
D.5. Trek to Khola Besi 950m, 5h, a narrow path with steep slopes following the river.
D.6. Trek to Jagat, 1410m, between the stiff rock walls by passing the hot springs
(Tatopani, tato=hot, pani = water in Nepali). Beautiful stone houses in Jagat and the first stupa of the valley.
D.7. Trek to Nyak 1530m, 6h, perched on a promontory above the river. The splendidly sculpted prayers' walls give impression of a museum in the depth of the
mountains.

D.9. Trek to Lho, 3100m, 6h. This is a region that trades with Tibet by yak and horse caravans in a setting of rhododendron and bamboo forests.
D.10. Trek to Sama Gompa, 3500m, 6h30. Region mainly inhabited by the Tibetans. Fantastic panoramas on Manaslu, Manaslu North and
Naike.
D.11. Leave for Sumdo, 3860m, 6h. Last village that trades very much with Tibet (1 day's journey) by the pass of Gya La.
D.12. Trek to the mountain shelter of Larkya La, 4500m, 6/7h, up to the feet of the immense glacier that descends from Manaslu,
Larkya.
D.13. Trek to Bhimtang, 3850m, 5h, by passing Larkya La (5212m). This stage of the trek
has to start in the early hours of dawn to avoid the mists that covers the summit in the course of the morning. Imposing panoramas on several summits such as Cheo Himal 6820m, Himlung Himal 7126m, Annapurna II
7937m, Kang Guru 6981m followed by a rapid descent by the side of glaciers and
moraines.

D16. Walk through the pine forests to reach Karche (2750m/7h), passing through several villages and rivers.
D17. Leave for Bargarchap (2000m / 7h) - now we are in the region of Annapurnas.
D18. Trek to Chame (2713m), first Tibetan village.
D19. Trek to Pisang (3165m / 6h).
D20. Trek to Manang (3351m), typical Tibetan village with monasteries and stupas, views on Annapurnas II and IV, and
Gangapurna.
D21. Trek to Thorong Phedi (4420m).
D22. Leave very early in the morning to cross the Thorong La pass (5400m) before 8AM because of violent winds that blow around the pass.

SECRET MUSTANG

D5. Leave Geling by crossing a pass at 3900m for Gemi (3700m), famous for its small monastery and a fantastic 400m long prayer wall on the route.
D6. Trek from Gemi to Tsarang. A pass at 4000m, descent by Lo Gekar, 11th century monastery with magnificent statues of Buddha, as well as the monastery
of Tsarang that treasures 14th century paintings.
D7. Trek from Tsarang (3900m) to Lho Mathang (3800m), 2nd city and capital of Mustang.
D8. Trek to Lho Mathang, fortified city, visit palace and different monasteries.

THE DOLPO - DHO THARAP.
15 days TREK.

This trek demands experience and excellent physical condition, crossing of
2 passes at more than 5000m. Itinerary incorporates the
need for having a good
acclimatization to altitude. Certain paths are not easy but present no noteworthy technical
difficulties.
From 4 to 7 hours of walk per day in accordance with the
altitude. This is one of the great treks of Nepal. This region, ancient Tibetan kingdom, was forbidden until 1990 to
tourism, and since opened, only for limited trekkers in group.
ITINERARY
D.1. Leave Kathmandu in plane for NEPALGANG (1h). Views on the Annapurnas,
Dhaulagiris, Manaslu
and then 2nd flight of 45mn for JUPHAL at 2550m. (Flights can be delayed according to climatic conditions).
D.2. Short stop and descent (3h) to DUNAÏ (2150m), capital of DOLPO.
D.3. Trek along the river BARBUNG KHOLA to THARAKOT, the beginning of Buddhist country
where
the first stupas appeared (about 5h of walk). Visit fortress.
D.4. Trek along the gorges of TARAP and by the numerous forests to LAHINI (3200m) after about 5 hours of walk.
D.5. Trek to NAURE ODAR at 3100m with sight of numerous caves.
D.6. Trek to DHO TARAP (4000m), the most important village of TARAP valley known as "valley of good horses". To arrive in
DHO,
there is a
difficult path - about 7 hours of uphill walk. The vegetation becomes rarefied.
D.7. Rest day in DHO TARAP and acclimatization to altitude, visit of the village
of Tibetan origin with 2 big active monasteries.
D.8. Trek to NUN LA, with visit to last Tibetan temples. Camp at an altitude of 4100m.
D.9. After about 2 h of walk, first high pass at 5200m, NUN LA PASS (the pass of salt). Superb views on the Annapurnas, Dhaulagiris and Nilgiris. Camp
at about 4200m, slow walk of 4 h.
D.10. Crossing of the pass of BAGLA LA (5090m) and descent towards the Tibetan village of RINGMO and the magnificient lake of PHOKSUNDO where
we visit the monastery of TESU.
D.11. Rest day in RINGMO. This village is inhabited by the "Bothias" of Tibetan
and Magar origin. The "Bon" monastery of TESU (ancient pre-Buddhist religion of Tibet) guides all aspects of life of the village.
D.12. We pass again the vegetation, cultivated fields and Tibetan villages on the descent by the river SULI GAD towards CHEPKA village.
D.13. Trek to DUNAÏ. We will certainly encounter the salt carrying Tibetan caravans on the way. This is often done on the pack-saddle of
goats or mules.
D.14. Return to JUFAL (uphill walk of about 3 hours) and take flight for
NEPALGANG. (Flight can sometimes be delayed by one day).

Itinerary
Day 1 : Welcome at airport and transfer
to hotel. Briefing about the bike tour.
Day 2 : Start on a
half-day introductory bike ride towards the villages north of Kathmandu Valley.
This is a moderate ride which involves some on and off road trails. Rest of the
afternoon is free and easy.
Day 3 : Ride to Nagarkot. On the way, we visit the pottery village of Thimi and
Bhaktapur Durbar Square, an ancient city dotted with 17th century monuments and
rich cultural heritage. Have lunch at this ancient town and get ready for a
great ascent to the hilltop of Nagarkot. As Sunset approaches, the sky's red,
orange, and violet light penetrates the billowing clouds, setting the stage for
a spectacular sunset. Check into the hotel and enjoy the scenery. Dinner at the
hotel.
Day 4 : Set a date with some of the tallest and most beautiful mountains on
earth for a hearty breakfast. You will get a great glimpse of the central and
eastern mountains (8000m) such as Langtang, GauriShankar, Dorje Lakpa, and
Everest. We start our second day of bike ride towards the viewing tower. A well
mix of off-road ride leads you through villages and rice fields to Dhulikhel
through an ancient village of Nala. It is yet another vista point which offers
the same mountain views but from a different perspective. Stop for the night at
the hotel in Dhulikhel.
Day 5 : Enjoy the hill village of Dhulikhel and explore the surroundings. Then
set off to Namobuddha, a Tibetan monastery situated on a hilltop east–south of
Dhulikhel. The day starts with a nice uphill climb to Kali temple. We ride back
down to Dhulikhel. After getting refreshed, we continue our ride to come down to
a place called Lubhu situated just 2 kilometers from Bhaktapur to live in Judy’s
Farm House. This will be a chance to experience lifestyle in the outskirts of
Kathmandu.
Day 6 : After breakfast,
ride towards Kathmandu city through villages of Surya Binayak. This part of the
ride passes through many villages at the outskirts of Kathmandu valley. A
perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with the villagers and take a
peek at their simple lifestyle. Check in to hotel in Kathmandu. Evening is free
& easy.
Day 7 : After Breakfast, our guide picks
you up from hotel Nirvana Garden and we go for a ride to visit at a leisurely
pace the famous temples and monuments of Kathmandu and Patan city in the
Kathmandu valley. The contrasts between the old and new architectures, colourful
group of people, the market place, the temples are all beyond your imagination.

hotel. If time permits and depending on the energy level of the people, we
will visit Monkey temple. Monkey temple offers a good night view of Kathmandu

At Nagarkot
Day 3 After
breakfast, drive to the put-in point of Trisuli River for river rafting. An
exciting day of rafting filled with plenty of class III+ white water and hearty
meals. Camp by the riverside and enjoy the campfire by night.
Day 4 After
breakfast, drive to Pokhara and onto Phedi some 200km in distance. This is the
starting point for the trekking. Ascending steeply up to Dhampus village and
stop for the day. The view of magnificent Machhapuchare and the majestic
Annapurna (7500m) dominate the skyline.
Day 5 Easy day of trekking through the beautiful forest
live with birds and flowers of many varieties. After an hour or two of gradual
climb up to Deorali pass, descend to the village of Landruk (1650m). Rest or
explore this bustling village. In this village, you will find many ex-Gorkha
soldiers who served in the Singapore police force or in the British forces.
Day 6 We
descend to the Modi river valley and climb our way towards Ghandruk village, the
largest Gurung settlement in the whole of Nepal. A visit to the ACAP(Annapurna
Conservation Area Project) is well worth the effort. Explore the village and
spend the night.
Day 7 Today is
particularly easy day, walking mostly downhill we come to Birethanti and end our
trek. Transfer back to Pokhara, a lake city. Check into Hotel. Evening is free
to explore the lake side & to do some shopping(not to mention the pub
hopping!)
Day 8 Take a 35 minutes flight back to Kathmandu from
Pokhara. An excellent opportunity to see the western and central himalayas from
the high above. The day is free to relax or to shop. You could take a stroll or
bike ride to Monkey temple in the late afternoon.

before the Sanctuary and walk up the Modi Khola valley through beautiful Bamboo
forests. The valley narrows into a steep sided gorge, and pass numerous high
waterfalls. Spend the night at Dhovan (2745m).
Day 8 : We leave the tree line and pass the large overhanging
rocks of Hinku cave (3017m). In places the trail has become obliterated by rock
fall and we have to scramble over rocks and small streams. When we reach the
moraines the views of the sanctuary are incredible, this is a mountain
amphitheatre of spectacular size. Spend the night at Machhepuchhare basecamp at
3700m.
Day 9 : Sanctuary REST AND ACCLIMATISATION. Side excursions.
From the base camp you can take a walk to the Hiunchuli glaciers at 4267m. From
here the views of the great peaks and the glaciers flowing from them are
incredible, almost unbelievable, beyond anything you could possibly imagine.
Day 10 :Descend through the Modi gorge, past the waterfalls
and back into the tree line. Spend the night at either Bamboo or Khuldi
Ghar(2377m) depending on our pace.
Day 11 : Walking back the same trail we reach Chhomorong early
and relax for the day.
Day 12 : Leaving Annapurna massif behind we head for the
village of Ghandruk, the largest Gurung settlement in the whole of Nepal. A
visit to the ACAP(Annapurna Conservation Area Project) head quarters is well
worth the effort. Explore the village and spend the night.
Day 13 : Today is particularly easy day, walking mostly

in a gradual ascent to Newbridge, steep climb up to a ridge at 2225m. and drop
down to Chhomorong village (1950m) where there are many lodges and restaurants.
Day 8 : Leaving Annapurna massif behind we head for the
village of Ghandruk, the largest Gurung settlement in the whole of Nepal. A
visit to the ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) is well worth the
effort. Explore the village and spend the night.
Day 9 : Our next destination is Ghorepani, one of the most
visited village in Nepal by travellers. Ghorepani offers the stunning views of
Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain range. The walk today is mostly uphill through
beautiful Pine and Rhododendron forest.
Day 10 : An early morning walk up to Poon hill to view the
Sunrise is well worth the effort. After the breakfast we descend down to the
village of Ulleri or Birethanti depending on how we walk. This is long and
tiring day of walking downhill through the stone staircase along with Mules.
This happens to be the old trading route to Tibet.
Day 11 : Today is particularly easy day, walking mostly
downhill we come to Birethanti and end our trek. Transfer back to Pokhara, a
lake city. Check into Hotel. Evening is free to explore the lake side & to
do some shopping(not to mention the pub hopping!)
Day 12 : Early morning drive back to Kathmandu(200km). Check
in to the hotel. Rest of the afternoon is free to relax. Evening is reserved for
cultural show (subject to availability) and dinner on the house.
Day 13 : Those taking the Mountain Flight(optional at an
additional cost) will board an early morning flight to Mt. Everest. After the
mountain flight you will be taken out for the city tour of Kathmandu and Patan.
Shopping can be done during these sightseeing tours. Evening is free to pack or
for some last minute shopping. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 14 : Morning is free & easy. Afternoon transfer to
airport for the flight back home.
